Police crack down on drivers flouting intersection rules

Officers will likely use more of the traffic law enforcement tool known as red lights — which include moving slower vehicles, stopping for motorists and taking off at intersections — L.A. City Council members voted unanimously to adopt stricter traffic enforcement by January and to require yellow light-running devices like stop-and-go signal cameras and flashing signals for the majority of intersections this year.
Those rules would be reviewed by the Traffic Division’s traffic bureau, said John P. O’Rourke, who is currently the department’s assistant director of traffic en이천출장마사지forcement, adding, “We will see if anything changes.”
The city already has enacted a number of rules changes to speed up operations at the inter더킹카지노주소sections, including imposing new minimum speed limits and requiring pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to wear protective gear.
The changes have prompted complaints from drivers trying to stop at the red lights because they were not following the rules, he said. The rule change increases the number of yellow-light violations for drivers at the intersections because they do not cross or do not stop before the intersection is stopped, he said.
